Melissa’s back!

Hudcomm first shot Melissa back in 2005 and followed it up with a series of shoots over the next three years. We’ve not seen her for a good couple of years now, as she’s been off travelling, up to Uluru, and Cairns, and the Cook Islands, just to name a few.

Now she’s back, Melissa is keen to get back into her modelling, advertising and promotional work. You’ll be seeing more of Melissa over the coming months, we’re sure!

Sass and Tegan are Hudcomm regulars who have kept us busy over the last couple of years keeping their portfolios up to date. They always have new outfits and hairstyles to photograph, and new looks they want to capture.

Sheridan’s new Swimwear – One Trick Pony

Hudcomm has been shorting Sheridan since 2008, when we first made the journey to cold Ballarat. Since then, we’ve shot with Sheridan right across the state at a variety of locations, from our studio through to the beaches down the surf coast.

As well as her work and her family, Sheridan is a talented dress and swimwear designer. We shoot her in her own creations, modelling the outfits she has designed and created herself.

This shoot, we started off with a variety of dresses before moving onto swimwear. Sheridan custom creates swimwear outfits for models competing in swimwear modelling competitions – so any models out there entering the likes of Aprilmarie, Zoo, Sports Illustrated, Miss Universe or any of the modelling competitions throughout the year, Sheridan can custom design an outfit just for you. Tarryn’s first shoot

Tarryn is new to modelling and made the journey to our Belgrave studios all the way from the outskirts of western Melbourne for her first photo shoot ever. It didn’t take her long to get into the groove, getting used to the lights, how to pose, all the outfit changes. She’d love to pursue a career in fitness as well as do some more modelling – we wish her all the best with her endeavours!

Makeup Artist (MUA) or Model?

Samantha is an experienced makeup artist we’ve had the pleasure of working with several times over the past three to four years.

Samantha runs Bombshell Beauty, a glamorous, personalised beauty service operating across Melbourne, catering to both models and weddings. She visited our Belgrave photographic studios again recently, but this time it was in need of images of herself – usually Samantha comes to provide makeup services to our models, but this time around she was the one to be in front of the camera.

Sporting Kids

“You’re not taking my picture, Dad!”

Did you ever say that to your father? Twisting their arms, ever so gently, I was able to entice my two children, Chris & Lauren, in front of the camera recently. Having helped their Dad out on dozens of shoots over many, many years, they both know the drill well when it comes to posing and all that’s involved in a photo shoot. It being the middle of winter in Melbourne, the studio saved us from the wet and cold weather – so they had no cause to complain about being put in front of the camera this time!

Now they’re both in High School, growing up fast, it’s getting harder and harder to get their photos. Thanks kids!

Mandy’s 2nd visit

Alternative model Mandy took time out to revisit Hudcomm Central recently, for her second series of images with us.

Mandy is relatively young and new to modelling, but she now has close to a dozen shoots under her belt. While still at school, studying her VCE, Mandy fits her modelling in around her studies and her social schedule. It was good to see Mandy back again and we wish her well with her VCE.

The Photographer and the Writer

Photographers and writers – we’re all storytellers.
Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing freelance writer Ruth McIver. Ruther’s work has been published in a number of online forums and print publications, including Beat, The Big Issue and The Age. As a music journalist, freelance writer and arts review, Ruth has an impressive background!
So when Ruth came along to Hudcomm Central, we put Ruth in front of the camera and this time made her the story. We took some shots for her website – www.ruthmciver.com – and promotional images, plus a whole range of photographs in different poses and styles. Here are some of our favs:

Chilling with Chhean

It was a pleasant surprise when Chean arrived to learn she was a mum, which made it a hat trick for mums over the long weekend at Hudcomm Central. Chhean had seen our images on various other girls’ sites and booked a shoot with us.

This was Chhean’s first time in front of the camera and she was a little nervous to begin, but after warming up Chhean was a natural. She had a great shoot, created some fantastic and glamorous images to take home to her partner and had a lot of laughs while doing so.

Well done Chhean!

Trixxy

Trixxy’s new to the modelling scene, but is a great up-and-coming alternative model. She does her own makeup and styling, and is excellent to work with, willing to listen and take direction when required, bringing her own ideas and enthusiasm to the shoot, and has a great work ethic.
